Mission Statement
The mission of the Cameron University Agriculture Department is to serve the 13 county service area of southwest Oklahoma and to advance, integrate, broaden, and communicate knowledge of the sciences and technologies of agriculture, natural resource utilization and conservation, and related environmental science and policy concerns. It seeks to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to learning, discovery, and citizen engagement in the fields of agriculture and natural resources that makes a positive difference on society by enhancing agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability. The department strives to develop students into scholars, mentors, and responsible citizens of the State of Oklahoma, the United States and the world. It seeks input from our key stakeholders including practitioners in agricultural production and businesses, agricultural leadership, natural resource managers and conservationists, and the agriculture education community that will in turn enable us to provide premier academic programs, effective outreach, and encourage relevant scholarship.
