Dr. Michael W. Geiger
Class of 1986
A native of Snyder, Dr. Michael W. Geiger is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Cameron, earning a B.S. in Chemistry in 1986. He received a Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University, where he ranked first in the optometric class, and now operates Geiger Eye Care in Altus.
While at Cameron, Dr. Geiger was a member of the Aggie basketball team and received the A.O. Duer Award as the top student athlete in the nation for the NAIA division. He attended Cameron as a PLUS scholar.
Since graduating, he has been a proud supporter of Cameron University, maintaining active membership in the Cameron University Alumni Association. He served as CUAA president from 1993-94. Dr. Geiger played a significant role in Cameron’s Centennial Celebration as a member of the Centennial Commission. He and his wife Shaun are members of President’s Partners, and he continues his university service by advising current Cameron students and speaking to a variety of classes.
Dr. Geiger is also an ordained Baptist preacher and has been serving churches throughout southwest Oklahoma for more than 25 years.
