Larry Lawler, Comanche, was born in 1939 near Hastings, Okla. He received an associate degree from Cameron in animal science in 1959 and later received his elementary education certification. He has a B.S. in animal science and a teaching certificate in agriculture education from OSU. While at Cameron, he was active in Student Government, Aggie Club, R.O.T.C., Pre-Med and Science Club. During his career, he has been involved with farming, ranching and agri-business, the banking business and teaching. For the past three years, he has served in the Oklahoma State Senate where he has been a member of the Senate Appropriations, General Government, Tourism and Transportation Committees and vice-chairman of the Agriculture Committee. He is involved in an extensive list of community organizations including Leadership Duncan; Kiwanis; Duncan, Waurika and Newcastle's Chambers of Commerce; Farm Bureau; Cotton Electric Coop; Cattlemen's Associations; Great Plains Sheep Breeders Association; 4-H and Immanuel Baptist Church. His wife, Daisy, is a Cameron graduate. His son and daughter have attended Cameron. His brother, Dwain Lawler, now deceased, attended Cameron.
