2019 Outstanding Aggies of Tomorrow

Savoy King

Savoy King

Outstanding Aggie Savoy King brings a passion that has excelled her collegiate career, and in May, she will walk the stage and receive a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She is a reliable, responsible, and punctual individual when it comes to her accounting courses and goes above and beyond when it comes to participating in the department. While constituently on the Dean’s and President’s Honor Rolls, King has been the Accounting Club president, a student member of the OSCPA Accounting Careers Committee, and an accounting tutor.

Along with contributing to her department, King has served as an officer in several organizations, including holding the positions as vice president of Delta Mu Delta, vice president of community service for Delta Sigma Pi, and fundraiser committee student coordinator for the 2018 Lawton Business Women Fashion Show.

King is just as passionate about volunteer and leadership skills as she is about collegiate and organizational activity. She leads a group of volunteering accounting tutors in the Department of Business and for the Funds Distribution Committee. She has volunteered at the local United Way organization, and this summer, Savoy was a volunteer speaker for the Fort Sill-based Financial Readiness Program, which is a lecture program series that is a requirement for in-processing first-time soldiers in the US Army.

Karley Patterson

Karley Patterson

Davidson native Karley Patterson has put her passion for volunteering into action during her time as a Cameron student. As a Cameron University PLUS scholar, she will graduate in May with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She has continuously volunteered throughout her college years, including the MLK Day of Service, Grace Fellowship Church nursery, and Cameron’s Camp of Champs. On campus, Karley is the vice president of the Student Alumni Association, an active member of Accounting Club, a past participant of the 2018 Ethics Bowl, former member of Cameron Baptist Collegiate Ministries, and is a current student worker in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

This 2018 fall semester, Karley saw a need for college students to have access to basic necessities, including clothes, kitchenware, and hygiene products. With her prior experience as the event coordinator for Personal Hygiene Supply Drive and summer intern at United Way of Southwest Oklahoma, Karley co-founded Cameron University’s Campus Closet, which remains open to student and stocked with donations this spring.

Karley has been listed on the President’s Honor Roll throughout her collegiate career.  She is a member of Phi Eta Sigma, a national honor society, and was named to Who’s Who Among Students at Cameron University.
