Candidates for graduation will assemble in the east end zone of Cameron Stadium (38th Street and Gore Boulevard) according to department and major no later than 7:00 p.m. The ceremony will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. Please fill out the card that you received in the "Graduation Times" newsletter prior to your arrival at the stadium. You must present the top portion of the card to the designated reader as you cross the platform during the ceremony Prior to crossing the platform, the bottom portion of the card will be removed and collected by a commencement official. If you lose or forget your card, it is imperative that you check in with Commencement officials at the table located near the east end zone prior to the ceremony. As a security precaution, officers will conduct safety checks of all carry-in baggage (handbags, purses, camera bags, or any like container) for unacceptable items such as illegal drugs, alcohol, weapons, fireworks, signs on poles, or noisemakers. Oversized bags, backpacks and duffle bags will not be permitted, neither will coolers with drinks, cans or bottles. Please leave your personal belongings with family and friends as it is likely you will not return to the same seat after the presentation of diploma covers. All attendees are encouraged to remain until the end of the ceremony so that every graduate is appropriately honored and acknowledged. The ceremony should last approximately two hours.

Commencement regalia is available for purchase beginning March 26 at the campus bookstore located in the McMahon Centennial Complex during regular operating hours. Regalia will not be sold at Cameron Stadium before the Commencement ceremony.
The associate and bachelor's degree regalia packages (cap, gown and tassel) cost $46.00, not including tax. The master's degree regalia package (cap, gown, tassel and hood) costs $82.00, not including tax. Additional tassels are $5.00 each, tax not included. Additional caps are $9.00, tax not included.
If you plan to purchase regalia but live outside Lawton, you may call the bookstore at 580.581.2375 to make postal arrangements. Gowns must be ordered by Thursday, April 30.
Please note that Commencement is an academic exercise in which there are specifications regarding the regalia. Only Regent approved regalia may be worn for Commencement. This includes cords and stoles from recognized academic honor societies, which may be purchased through the book store or provided by the faculty or staff representatives of the honor society. No other modifications to the regalia are permitted. Questions regarding regalia may be directed to the Office of Academic Enrichment at (580) 581-6775 or email@example.com.
Guests may enter the stadium through any gate. Please advise your guests to allow sufficient time to walk from parking areas, proceed through gate security, and be seated no later than 7:15 p.m. Commencement assistants will provide programs and answer questions.
Ample parking is available on campus. The map below shows parking areas for you and your guests. However, guests are asked to drop off graduation candidates at the northwest gate or the southeast gate before parking. The drop off points are also indicated on the map. If anyone in your party is physically challenged, please inform him/her that the mobility impaired seating area, located on the stadium floor, is most accessible from the 38th Street parking lot.
If you are a graduation candidate and need assistance reaching the assembly area, participating in the Processional, or crossing the platform to receive your diploma cover, please call 580.581.5506 prior to Commencement day.
A section on the floor of the stadium will be designated for guests unable to negotiate stadium stairs. Please advise any guests desiring seating in this area to enter the stadium through the northwest gate (38th Street) and proceed along the stadium floor in front of the north stands. A special area will be roped off and chairs will be provided for the person and one escort. Special seating areas accessible through the east gates are also designated on the upper stadium level. Commencement volunteers at the gates can assist with directions to these areas.
|Capture Your Special Day
in Personal Photographs and Video
You and your guests are encouraged to capture this important occasion in photographs and on video. Special areas on the stadium floor in front of the north and south stands are provided during the ceremony for this purpose.
Professional photographs will be taken as each graduate receives a diploma cover. The photographer will also take an individual portrait as each graduate leaves the stage. Pictures will be online at www.oklahomaeventphotographers.com where you can order products and packages that include custom background options. All transactions must be made between the photographer and individual candidates. Cameron University is not involved in the billing or collecting of monies for this service. If you wish to obtain a DVD recording of the Commencement ceremony, contact KCCU at 580.581.2472. DVDs will be available for a nominal shipping and handling fee.
Please assume Commencement will be held at Cameron Stadium unless an announcement to the contrary is made over KCCU radio, locally on 89.3 and 102.9 FM, and other broadcast media.
