Cameron University observation of Darwin Day to examine fossil plants

Link Description

Dunn will present an overview of his research, “The Division of Populations into Lineages: A Case Study.” He will be speaking about a fossil plant community that is dated between 346 and 359 million years old. Recovered from a coal mining area in southern West Virginia, the collection of fossils includes a diversity of plant species and tissue types. According to Dunn, one of the most interesting of the finds are what appear to be the oldest known examples of plant herbivory on land by insects.
