The Oklahoma Political Science Association (OPSA) represents the state association in the fields of political science and offers two membership categories along with certain benefits. For additional information about membership and payment options, see the Membership and Institutional Members section.

Individual Membership

The Association welcomes as members students, faculty, practitioners, elected officials, and affiliates whose interests involve politics and government and other fields relating to political science. All that is required to join the Oklahoma Political Science Association as an individual is completing the electronic membership application (see Membership section). The benefits and privileges vary based on whether a basic membership or a supporting membership is chosen. Every member receives the quarterly newsletter and is entitled to declare he or she is in “good standing” with the association.

Institutional Membership

The Association also welcomes institutions of higher education across the state of Oklahoma. Considered as the backbone of the Association, institutional membership enables our organization to offer free membership to faculty, students, practitioners, and others interested in Oklahoma politics. Moreover, it also allows the Association to publish its peer-reviewed journal, Oklahoma Politics, sponsor an annual conference, and continue our outreach efforts through newsletters and the Association's website.

 OPSA INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP AND BENEFITS

  • The annual conference fee will be waived for all of your institution’s students.
  • Your department will receive print and electronic copies of the annual journal and membership directory.
  • Your institution will be listed as a member in all OPSA publications—journal, directory, newsletter, conference program, and website.
  • Your institution will be included as a sponsor of OPSA’s student and faculty awards.
