Political Science and Pre-Law

Pre-Law Advising will aid you in preparing for admission to and success in law school.  Your Political Science adviser can provide valuable advice as you prepare for the LSAT, select the school that is right for you, assemble your application, and plan your program of study to support your career goals.

Political Science & Law School Preparation

  • Critical thinking skills are essential for admission to law school and for success in law school.  Political Science is geared toward critical thinking skills and is the most popular pre-law major.  Political Science students take courses in law, political institutions and processes, and political philosophy such as Constitutional Law, the Judicial Process, and American Political Thought.  These courses are rigorous in the areas of reading, writing, and logical thinking that are critical to succeed in both the LSAT and law school.
