On November 29, 2006, Dr. Sarah Janda, Assistant Professor of history and government, presented a lecture entitled "African Americans and the Quest for Social Justice in Oklahoma."  This lecture was held in conjunction with a traveling exhibit, "Land of Promise:  Europeans and African Americans in Oklahoma," sponsored by the Oklahoma Humanities Council.  Both events, funded in part by a OHC grant, provided insight into Oklahoma's early settlement and diverse heritage.
