The Cameron University art department presents "Forty Years & Counting," an art exhibition celebrating the department's 40 years in existence. More than 50 alumni, many of whom are established artists and/or educators, will exhibit artwork. Every graduating class since the art department's 1968 founding will be represented by at least one alumnus. The exhibit at the Cameron University Art Department Gallery kicks off with a gala reception, open to the public, on Saturday, November from 7-9 p.m. in the Fine Arts Courtyard and runs through November.
"As we celebrate Cameron's Centennial, we wanted to also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Cameron art department," says Edna McMillan, chair. "As a whole, the artwork on display during this exhibition is dazzling. It's a privilege to showcase the talented artists who at one time called Cameron home, and we invite art lovers from across the region to join us for this celebration."
The exhibition promises a visual feast featuring paintings, drawings, sculpture, prints, 3D representational pieces and more.
