The student meeting room in the McMahon Centennial Complex (MCC) will be named "The Buddy Green Family/Liberty National Bank Student Meeting Room," Cameron University President Cindy Ross announced today following approval by The University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University Board of Regents. The naming of the student meeting room comes in recognition of a major gift by the Green family and Liberty National Bank to the Cameron University's Centennial Changing Lives Campaign.

"Buddy Green and Liberty National Bank have long been strong supporters of Cameron University," says Ross. "Not only did they demonstrate their support with a $50,000 donation to the Changing Lives campaign, Mr. Green, a respected community leader, encouraged other business leaders to support Cameron's fundraising initiative. We are pleased to recognize the extraordinary generosity of the Buddy Green family and Liberty National Bank by naming this student meeting room in their honor."

"Southwest Oklahoma in general and Lawton/Fort Sill specifically will benefit significantly from having the McMahon Centennial Complex available for community use, and I will continue to urge business leaders to demonstrate their support for the university as the transformation of the Cameron campus continues. The progress is amazing and is something we should all celebrate."
The Buddy Green Family/Liberty National Bank Student Meeting Room, located on the second floor of the MCC, will provide a space for student activities meetings. The room will have the latest in audio-visual and internet connections and can be used for a multitude of meeting purposes student activities. The MCC is currently under construction; completion will be in the spring.
A native Lawtonian, Buddy Green is a well-known and respected executive, entrepreneur, banker and civic leader in the Lawton community. Liberty National Bank is one of Mr. Green's enterprises. In December 2007, in recognition of the progress made at Cameron University and in support of its future endeavors, Mr. Green and Liberty National Bank donated $50,000 to establish a student meeting room in the MCC.
The Green family, through its various business entities, has been a consistent supporter of Cameron University for more than 10 years. Contributions from the Greens and Liberty National Bank have aided Cameron Athletics including baseball, softball and women's and men's basketball. Their donations have also helped to support KCCU, the English Department, the Jack Bryan Endowed Lectureship and other university programs. The CU Alumni Association and CU President's Partners have also received contributions.
Green serves as a trustee for Comanche County Memorial Hospital and was instrumental in raising funds and organizing the construction of the Big Green Soccer Complex on Lee Boulevard. Liberty National Bank is a locally owned community bank with six branches in Comanche County offering a full range of commercial and personal services.
