Cameron University student Kyle Luetters is one of six broadcast students in Oklahoma to be honored by the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation with a scholarship for the 2009-10 school year. Luetters, a sophomore from Garden City, KS, will receive the scholarship on April 17 in Tulsa during OAB's Student Day luncheon, held during the organization's annual convention.
"Kyle is certainly deserving of this scholarship," says Tony Allison, Chair, CU Department of Communication. "His passion for television production is evident. When he's not in class, he's bound to be somewhere on campus with a TV camera or in the CUTV production suite putting the finishing touches on an upcoming segment. I am confident that we have a future Emmy winner in our program."
The OAB Education Foundation offers annual scholarships to students majoring in broadcasting at Oklahoma colleges and universities. To be eligible to apply, students must be enrolled in an Oklahoma college or university broadcast program and majoring in broadcasting, be a junior or senior during the scholarship year, maintain a minimum "B" average grade in all courses, carry at least 12 hours during the scholarship year and plan to enter broadcasting upon graduation.
