Cameron University Department of Theatre Arts presents annual awards

Cameron University's Department of Theatre Arts recognized students for their contributions to the department during its annual awards ceremony, held last week. Awards were presented to theatre majors and non-majors for their participation in the department's 2008-2009 productions.

Senior Neila Ettienne of St. David's, Grenada was recognized for Outstanding Contribution by a Major. She also received awards for Outstanding Performance for her role in "Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology," and Outstanding Technical Achievement for the property design of "Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology" and "Disney's Beauty and the Beast." 

Mandi Bongiorno of Lawton received an award for Outstanding Technical Achievement for her set design of "My Children! My Africa!" and was also was recognized for Outstanding Performance in "The Shape of Things." Rebecca Craft, an English major from Lawton, was recognized for Outstanding Contribution by a Non-Major for her performance in "Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology" and for her technical work on "Disney's Beauty and the Beast."  Awards for Outstanding Performance were also presented to Lawton's Christopher Jefferson for "My Children! My Africa!" and Bryan West of Howard, OH for "Disney's Beauty and the Beast."
