Cameron University Delta Mu Delta chapter awarded Star status

Cameron University’s Iota Sigma Chapter of the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business has been honored with the Star Chapter Award.  The Star Chapter Awards provide recognition to chapters that meet or exceed national standards for chapter operation and administration. The Iota Sigma Chapter was installed in 2000. In the past 10 years, 106 seniors, 111 juniors, 53 graduate students and 22 honorary members have been inducted.

Chapter officers for 2010-11 are Daniela Zayas Medina, president; Sau-Yan Chan, vice president; Maggie B. Wright, secretary; Ugochukwu S. Ubajaka, treasurer; and Wyatt Kennedy, student government representative. Faculty member Greg Treadwell serves as chapter advisor.

Undergraduate membership is by invitation to undergraduates and candidates for the baccalaureate degree who have completed one-half of the work required for a bachelor’s degree with a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or better and who are in the top 20 percent of their college class in cumulative average grades.

Graduate membership is also by invitation to students who have completed at least one-half of the work required for the master’s degree with a cumulative grade point of 3.60 or better and who are in the top 20 percent of their college class in cumulative average grades.
