The forum takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the McCasland Ballroom of the McMahon Centennial Complex on the Cameron University campus. The public is invited to attend. The Oklahoma Academy will present a total of six Gubernatorial Forums across Oklahoma prior to the Oklahoma primary election on July 27. The forums are structured to allow candidates to answer both pre-determined questions from the Academy and questions from the audience. Candidates receive a list of potential Academy questions prior to each forum and are expected to prepare answers based on their own experience and knowledge and the Academy’s research and recommendations on the issue. Previous forums have been held in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Durant.
A statewide nonprofit and nonpartisan membership organization, The Oklahoma Academy was founded by Governor Henry Bellmon in 1967 to bring public attention to policy issues, provide objective, thorough research, and act as a catalyst for positive change.
