Cameron University invites residents of southwest Oklahoma to get into the holiday spirit at CU’s annual tree lighting ceremony and community reception. The event takes place on Monday, December 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McMahon Centennial Complex on the Cameron campus. CU President Cindy Ross, assisted by Ole Kim, will light the tree shortly after 6 p.m.
“Cameron University invites the residents of southwest Oklahoma to join our students, faculty and staff for this festive celebration,” says Josh Lehman, Senior Director of Public Affairs. “Cameron enjoys tremendous community support, and this annual celebration is just one way of expressing appreciation for that support. This will be a night filled with many fun activities for families. We welcome everyone to come out and enjoy the festivities.”
The come-and-go event will include horse-drawn carriage rides, cookie-decorating stations for kids of all ages, musical performances and the lighting of a fully decorated tree. Hot cocoa, coffee, cupcakes, popcorn balls, cookies and ‘smores will be served.
In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will take place on Wednesday, December 8.
Cameron will host a similar event at Cameron University – Duncan on Thursday, December 9.
