Students from more than 30 Oklahoma high schools participated in the first part of Cameron University’s annual Agriculture Interscholastic Meet on April 6. The event helps agriculture students hone their skills in areas ranging from practical animal science and agronomy to leadership and business while it prepares the students for the state competition. Cameron has hosted the meet for more than 50 years.

Competitions were held in 10 categories. Team and individual placings were awarded in Agronomy, Dairy Science, Farm Business Management, Farm Shop, Floriculture, Food Science and Technology, Land Judging, Livestock Judging and Meat Judging. Another category, Quiz Bowl, is a team competition only.

Cameron’s Agriculture Department will host the FFA Leadership competition on April 26.
