The Cameron University Athletic Department has declared the month of November as “Cameron Cares Month,” according to Athletic Director Jim Jackson. Throughout the month, the Athletic Department will be collecting canned goods to be donated to the Lawton Food Bank.
“The Lawton Food Bank is struggling right now,” Jackson says. “We in the Cameron Athletic Department see that need and want to do our part to help the less fortunate have healthy, hot meals. In an effort to let the food bank know they have our support, we are asking our athletes, students, faculty, staff and fans to donate to this important cause.”
Donation canisters for nonperishable items will be set up at each of the remaining home games through the month of November:
• Women’s Basketball at 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 15 against Barclay College
• Women’s Basketball at 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 22 against Hillsdale Freewill Baptist
• Men’s Basketball at 4 p.m. Saturday, November 26 against University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma
Nonperishable food items may also be dropped off in the Athletic Department, 5th Floor, South Shepler. For more information, call Jim Jackson, 581-2306, or email at email@example.com.
