Cameron University’s Gamma Upsilon chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the criminal justice honor society, is sponsoring a food drive for the Lawton Food Bank through Nov. 18. Items for the food drive can be dropped off in Nance Boyer Hall in Room 2083, the office of faculty member Sheri Jenkins Cruz. Those who are interested can donate canned food and dry food.
“This is the fourth annual food drive being sponsored by the criminal justice honor society,” Cruz says. “We are trying to help fill the gap between the supply and demand at the food bank. The demand for food has increased whereas donations have declined.”
Last year, Gamma Upsilon collected more than 6,000 cans of food and also donated $425.
