Artwork by Cameron faculty members selected for traveling exhibition

Artwork by Cameron University faculty members Katherine Liontas-Warren and Monika Linehan have been selected for inclusion in “24 Works on Paper,” a travelling exhibition produced as a collaboration between Individual Artists of Oklahoma and Oklahoma Visual Art Coalition. The show will open on July 15 at the Individual Artists of Oklahoma Gallery in Oklahoma City, running through August 5. It will then travel to seven additional locations throughout Oklahoma over the course of the next year.

Liontas-Warren’s stone lithograph “Who sees Who?” and Linehan’s "The Shy Girl," a pastel on paper, were selected by juror Louise Siddons, Assistant Professor of American, Modern and Contemporary Art at Oklahoma State University. The “24 Works on Paper” exhibition features 24 artists from 8 Oklahoma cities. All artworks are created on paper and include media such as printmaking, drawing, painting and photography.

The exhibit will be on display at the Leslie Powell Gallery in Lawton in May-June 2012. For other locations and more information, go to http://www.ovac-ok.org/Events/events_24works.cfm.

Liontas-Warren joined the Cameron faculty in 1984. A Professor of Art, she teaches all levels of Drawing and Printmaking. Linehan, an Associate Professor of Art, joined the Cameron staff in August 2004. She teaches Advanced Drawing, Figure Drawing and all levels of Painting.
