Cameron University’s Fitness Center has been rebranded as the Aggie Rec Center with a new name, logo and look. In addition, the facility’s fitness and recreational offerings have been expanded, including a new sand volleyball pit and disc golf course.
“The Aggie Rec Center plays a significant role in Cameron students enjoying a complete collegiate experience,” says Jennifer Holland, Vice President for Student Activities. “We continue to emphasize fitness and the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle with the expansion of recreational opportunities.”
The Aggie Rec Center offers facilities and resources to fit into any type of fitness program, including a weight training area featuring free weights and weight-resistance machines; a cardio area with treadmills, ellipticals, ascent trainers, stationary bikes and a rower; a group fitness studio; a spin room; an indoor pool; basketball and racquetball courts; a stretch/personal DVD area; and an indoor track. The facility is also the start location of the Aggie Mile, a one-mile outdoor course contained within the Cameron campus.
The schedule of fitness and aerobic classes has been expanded. Group classes are available in Interval Circuit Training, Zumba, Crossfit, Body Flow/Yoga, Body Pump and Kettlebells. Participants can also choose a Spin Class or the Running/Walking Program.
