Artwork by Cameron University students, faculty selected for Oklahoma Friendly art exhibition

Cameron University will be represented at the Oklahoma Friendly 2012 National Juried Show, sponsored by the Oklahoma Art Guild, by artwork from three students and one faculty member. Paintings by Cameron students Zaeed Kala, Port Louis, Mauritius; Matt Hughes, Elgin; and Elizabeth Tilghman, Lawton, were accepted for the exhibit, as was a pastel drawing by Katherine Liontas-Warren, Professor of Art. The show will open on March 16 with a reception from 6 – 9 p.m. and will run through April 7 at the IAO Gallery in Oklahoma City.

The four pieces of art were included in 150 works selected by a panel of four jurors from more than 720 submissions in a wide variety of media and styles that came from across the country. By being selected for the show, the artwork is eligible for cash, purchase and artistic awards. Dr. Mary Ruth Smith, Professor of Art at Baylor University, will serve as Curator of Awards for the exhibit.
