The Cameron University Department of Music will present Bella Voce, a new all-women's vocal ensemble, in concert on Monday, September 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the McCutcheon Recital Hall. Admission to the concert is free.
The group was formed in June 2013 with the goal to perform music composed solely for women’s voices. Bella Voce, consisting of 24 women with varied musical backgrounds, made its debut performance in July at the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association Summer Convention. Doris Lambert, Cameron adjunct instructor of music, serves as the ensemble’s music director and conductor.
Bella Voce will present selections by 20th century composers in a variety of musical styles. The selections include: "Festival Sanctus" by John Leavitt, "I Could Not Let You Go" by James Mulholland, "Rise Up, My Love" by Eleanor Daley, "Nigra Sum" by Pablo Casals, "Zing Uh Boo Day" by Allen Koepke, "Jar of Hearts" arranged by Mark Brymer, and "Music Down in My Soul" by Moses Hogan. Pianist Tom Willoughby is the group's accompanist.
