Cameron University Department of Agriculture announces scholarship awards

The Cameron University Department of Agriculture recently presented scholarship and tuition waiver awards to 20 agriculture majors for the 2013-14 academic year. Scholarships and tuition waivers were awarded in various amounts. The students listed met the eligibility requirements for the respective award they received. In addition, some scholarships carry over to the next academic year if the recipients maintain the eligibility requirements of their respective scholarships.

“The Cameron University Department of Agriculture is awarding more than $19,000 in departmental scholarships this year, surpassing last year’s all-time high,” says Dr. Leon Fischer, Chair, Department of Agriculture. “These scholarships are possible due to the generosity of private donors as well as the university’s administration. We are grateful to the donors who make it possible for us to alleviate some of the financial costs of earning a degree. Cameron’s agriculture students have the potential to impact consumers across the country by entering the workforce in a wide variety of professional endeavors, including veterinary school and ultimately veterinary medicine, livestock production, research, crop production, and education.”
