Center for Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurial Studies to observe Global Entrepreneurship Week with public events

In observance of Global Entrepreneurship Week (November 18 - 24), the Center for Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurial Studies at Cameron University will celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship with two events. On Tuesday, November 19, CETES Tech Night will feature “The Future of Digital Marketing,” a presentation by Kelly Edwards of Lawton Marketing Group. The presentation starts at 6 p.m. in Room 207 of CETES. According to Edwards, in today’s digital society, traditional marketing methods have become more and more obsolete. They are rapidly getting replaced by things like search engine optimization, social media marketing, mobile marketing, and more. The informative session is ideal for Lawton business owners or students interested in marketing or web development. Attendees will garner insight and ideas that can be implemented immediately that will lead to exponential business growth.

On Wednesday, November 20, CETES will present a live stream address focusing on International Entrepreneurship by Chris Bradford, co-founder of Newline Interactive. The presentation will begin at 8 a.m. in Room 207 of the CETES building. Newline Interactive is a multi-national corporation with operations in Plano, Texas, and Beijing, China. A leading provider of advanced computer displays and interactive whiteboards, Newline employs more than 2,000 workers, including 350 engineers.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. GEW through local, national and global activities designed to help individuals explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.
