Artwork by Cameron University professor selected for national exhibition

A pastel painting by Cameron University faculty member Monika Linehan has been accepted into “Pastel National 2014,” a national juried exhibition presented by the Wichita Center for the Arts in Wichita, Kan. “The Shy Girl,” a 19” x 27” pastel on Art Spectrum paper, was selected from submissions from around the nation and will be on display from March 28 through May 11 at the Wichita Center for the Arts Gallery. The exhibition is a national showcase for artists working in pastels and has highlighted the art of pastel on paper since 1984.

Linehan, an associate professor of art, joined the Cameron staff in August 2004. She teaches Advanced Drawing, Figure Drawing, Beginning Painting and Advanced Painting. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts from Cameron University. Linehan received the Hackler Award for Teaching Excellence in November 2013.
