Cameron University Foundation launches year-end fundraising campaign to generate gifts for the Aggie Fund for Student Success

In an effort to secure private gifts that will benefit Cameron University students, the Cameron University Foundation has launched “Roots of Our Success,” a fundraising campaign to generate donations to the Aggie Fund for Student Success. In addition to funding scholarships, donations to the Aggie Fund will be used to provide access to a quality education and global experiences; provide innovative teaching and experiential learning to prepare students for leadership; and optimize academic success.

“Student success is the cornerstone of everything that happens at Cameron University, both inside and outside of the classroom,” says Albert Johnson, Jr., Vice President for University Advancement. “We want to provide all Cameron students with a solid foundation that will allow them to succeed not only in their academic pursuits as they work toward earning a college degree, but that will also prepare them for achievement and leadership after they graduate. For more than 100 years, Cameron graduates have made a positive impact on their communities, not just in Southwest Oklahoma, but around the world. This campaign plays a critical role in Cameron’s ability to keep that momentum going for the next hundred years.”

The campaign has been given an accelerated start thanks to a challenge gift of $5,000 from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. That donor is challenging nine other Cameron University supporters to match that gift, which would not only result in reaching the campaign goal of $50,000 but would also boost the overall total beyond that goal after smaller yet equally important donations are tallied.

Community members who wish to be part of the Roots of Our Success campaign can find information on how to make a gift at http://www.cameron.edu/cu_foundation, by calling 580-581-2999 or via email at foundation@cameron.edu.

“Just as a complete college experience at Cameron can lead to a lifetime of success and attainment, a gift to the Roots of Our Success campaign will generate new growth and ensure the continued cultivation of academic excellence,” Johnson says “The generosity of Cameron’s donors is deeply rooted in their desire to transform lives and inspire leadership and achievement.”
