“Unbound,” Cameron University senior art show, to open April 7 at Leslie Powell Gallery

The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will present “Unbound,” an art exhibit featuring the works of Cameron’s senior art majors. The show takes place at the Leslie Powell Gallery, 620 S.W. D Avenue. An opening reception is planned for Saturday, April 7 at 6:30  p.m. and is open to the public at no charge. The exhibition will be on display through April 28.

According to the artists whose works will be displayed, "We are Unbound, an all-encompassing title that defines the variety of styles and themes within our graduating class, as well as defining our venture into the professional art world. We are ready to rein free and go in many different directions in our lives."

The exhibition includes a variety of artworks in a wide range of media to include various oil paintings of different sizes; prints including linocuts and drypoints, watercolor paintings; a wide variety of sculpture; graphic design works in digital media; mixed media artworks; and drawings in a wide range of media including graphite, charcoal, conte and pastel.

These artworks include a diversity of subject matter as well.  Portraits of people, figurative narrative works, poster designs, surreal figures, illustrative fantasy works, landscapes, and abstract subject matter are all included.

Student artists whose work will be displayed are Nicole Anderson and Jessica Wolkow, Elgin; Jake Baker, Tallmadege, Ohio; Tiana Buckner, Willits, Calif.; Glory-Anne Dore, Valley Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands; Kimberly Fisher, Daegu, South Korea; Carl Hoover, Sterling; Sol Lee, Seoul, South Korea; Antonio Moreno, Mesquite, Texas; Amanda Rivera, Oviedo, Fla.; and Kelly Coy, Melissa Coy, Le’Shondre Higdon, and Kristi Smith, Lawton.
