Cameron University to offer career showcase for social sciences fields

The Cameron University Department of Social Sciences will present a career showcase focusing on forensic, criminal justice and nursing careers on Thursday, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Aggie Rec Center. The event is sponsored by the CU Criminal Justice Association and the Department of Social Sciences research team.

Representatives from more than 30 agencies and organizations will be in attendance in order to promote potential career opportunities that include corrections, healthcare, private security, law enforcement and more. Many participants plan to conduct interviews and could offer job opportunities on the spot.

“College graduates who earn degrees in the numerous academic disciplines under the social sciences umbrella find they have a multitude of career options,” says Christina Leija, an instructor in the CU Department of Social Sciences. “For this career showcase, we hope to present the vast array of career choices to our students.”
