The Lawton Farmers Market, an initiative of the Southwest Growers Association, will return to Cameron University for the winter months beginning on Saturday, November 3. The winter market will operate each Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., continuing through the end of March 2019 in Cameron’s Animal Sciences Building. The building is located on the west side of the 900 block of SW 38th Street. Parking is available on the south side of the building. Shoppers will find a variety of items at the winter market, including winter produce, sprouts, micro greens, meat, eggs, honey, nuts, and handmade and artisan items.
The Lawton Farmers Market attracts vendors from across southwest Oklahoma and welcomes new vendors to the winter market. Vendors are required to have an Oklahoma Sales Tax Number and must be a member of the Southwest Growers Association. Additionally, vendors must pay a small booth fee each time they set up. Meat and egg vendors must comply with all USDA requirements. Food items excluding baked goods must be produced in a certified commercial kitchen for which the vendor is licensed, and all crafts and handmade items must be made by the vendor.
