Food, Inc., is a 2008 American documentary film directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Robert Kenner. The film examines corporate farming in the United States, concluding that agribusiness produces food that is unhealthy, in a way that is environmentally harmful and abusive of both animals and employees. The film is narrated by Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser.  The film tied for fourth place as best documentary at the 35th Seattle International Film Festival and was also nominated for best documentary in the 82nd Academy Awards but lost. 94 min. Yes, finals week has a weekend in the middle of it! Come hang out and study in the SSS TRiO Computer Lab or conference room as available.

A focus group is a chance for you, as a member of SSS, to voice your opinion about the services offered by the program. Your opinions matter! Your input is important to us. Last semester only 34 students participated in the group. This program is designed to serve 235 students—meaning over 200 were silent! The more input we have, the better, and EVERY opinion matters! For your convenience, 15 sessions will be offered. We only ask that you attend one. Sessions will be held each day at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please make every effort to attend, and let your voice be heard!

Meetings will be held at 10am and 4pm daily.

SQ3R is an acronym for survey, question, read, recite, and review. SQ3R is an effective active reading strategy to better understand written content. It’s also a great way to empower students who struggle concentrating on text.
