I am a native of Canovanas, Puerto Rico. I am the son of Fundador and Pilar and the youngest of 14 children. At the age of 20, I enlisted in the United States Army, from which I retired in 1997 as Sergeant First Class. I have four children, Grechan, Suhail, Jessica, and Misael Omar and I have 11 grandchildren.  Immediately upon retirement, I started working on a BA in Romance Languages at Cameron University, Lawton, Oklahoma. I completed my BA in the Summer of 1999 and my Master of Arts in Teaching in December of 2001. I am a proud member of the Phi Sigma Iota Foreign Languages International Society.

As a soldier in the U. S. Army, I traveled to Europe, South Korea, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia.  In the United States I have lived in Texas, Kansas, Tennessee, Louisiana, New York, Florida, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. My awards and decorations include:  The Bronze Star Medal, The Meritorious Service Medal, The Army Commendation Medal, The Army Achievement Medal, The Liberation of Kuwait Medal, The Defense of Saudi Arabia Medal, The Air Assault Badge, and others.
