What type of cables will I need?

To connect to ResNET, you only need a CAT-5 or CAT-6 ethernet cable (male-to-male) that is no longer than 25-feet. No cross-overs. Staples or Office Depot are good sources for cables.

First, locate the network port on your computer or device.

This port is similar to a phone port but slightly larger.

Second, locate the network port in your dorm room.

This port is located on the wall next to the TV cable in most cases. The data jack will typically be either be orange or blue.

Third, plug your network cable from your device to the wall.

The network port on the device should begin to blink. Launch your web browser to use the Internet.
