Community Health Worker, Mobility Manager, & RX for Oklahoma on Campus

The Student Enrichment Center (SEC) has partnered with the District 5 Health Department to bring a Community Health Worker to our campus from 1-4 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month, in Room 2075 of South Nance-Boyer Hall. The Community Health Worker will be on campus the following Wednesdays: Feb. 5, March 5 (rescheduled to March 12), April 2 and May 7. This initiative aims to provide you with valuable health resources and support just when you need it. Appointments will be conducted face-to-face in a private conference room. These sessions are open to all students and walk-ins are welcome. Whether you have questions about nutrition, mental health, general wellness, or anything else related to your health, our expert will be here to help.
Also on site will be our Lawton Mobility Manager, who can help with transportation assistance, local transit information, and mobility planning for community resources.
Additionally, Debra from the SWOK Community Action Agency out of Altus will be on site to introduce the RX for Oklahoma program, a free service that helps Oklahoma residents pay for long-term prescription medications. It helps people who are uninsured, underinsured, or low income.
Other free resources you can get connected with here are WIC, SNAP, food pantries, SoonerCare (Medicaid), clothing, utilities, housing, employment and more.
An appointment can be scheduled outside this monthly timeframe by contacting the SEC.

Vet Fest

The CU Office of Veterans Affairs is hosting this event with the Oklahoma City Health Care System's Local Community Engagement.
During this event, there will be information about the impact of the newly enacted PACT Act. Under this act, the Department of Veterans Affairs has launched one of the biggest expansions of healthcare in its history. All veterans exposed to toxic substances and other hazards during military service are now eligible to enroll directly in VA healthcare without first applying for VA benefits.
During Vet Fest, PACT Act screeners will be on-site to facilitate applying for these specific VA health benefits. Additional health and support services will also be available.
