A team of Cameron University students was named the undergraduate level winner of the 2022 National Government Finance Case Challenge, sponsored by the Association of Government Accountants. Tiffany Bass, Natalie Martin and Taylor Rowley, who were students in CU’s Government Accounting class taught by Bernadette Lonzanida, senior instructor, in Fall 2022, each received a $1,000 scholarship award. The competition was open to graduate and undergraduate students nationwide.
High school juniors and seniors are invited to become a “Music Major for a Day” at Cameron University on Friday, February 24. The event takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to vocalists, string players, brass players, woodwind players, percussionists, pianists and composers. There is no charge to attend.
The Cameron University Office of Veterans Affairs will host a claims processor from the Muskogee VA Regional Processing Office on Wednesday, February 1. The veterans claims examiner will be on the Cameron campus to assist veterans, active service members and their dependents.
Cameron University’s Dr. Matt Jenkins will premiere his latest feature film, “Rage, Fear, Love,” on Monday, February 13, at Lawton’s Vaska Theater. The movie will start at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Employers interested in recruiting talented students, alumni and community members are encouraged to participate in Cameron University’s Red River Career Expo. The annual job fair is slated for Thursday, March 9, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Aggie Rec Center on the CU campus. Employers from all career fields are encouraged to register.

Head to the Lawton campus of Cameron University for the 2023 Homecoming: Here’s to the Black and Gold, featuring a multitude of opportunities to celebrate, reminisce and enjoy life! Homecoming activities geared to alumni are slated for Friday, February 10, and Saturday, February 11.
Members of the public are invited to the annual ceremony kicking off Black Heritage Month in Lawton-Fort Sill. Cameron University will host the ceremony at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, in the McCasland Ballroom of the McMahon Centennial Complex, located at University Drive and D Avenue. Parking is available across from the facility.
Cameron University has announced the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the Fall 2022 semester. To make the President’s Honor Roll, undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time (carrying at least 12 hours of classes) and maintain a straight A average (4.0). The Dean’s Honor Roll requires a B average (3.00-3.99).
Cameron University has set room and board rates for the 2023-24 academic year. Approved by the Board of Regents for the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University, the new rates will be effective August 1, 2023.
