The Cameron University communication program recently celebrated the accomplishments of students enrolled in strategic communication and journalism and media production classes.
“Onward,” Cameron faculty member Jack Crouch’s unique take on Jacques-Louis David’s famed painting “Napoleon Crossing the Alps,” has been selected for inclusion in Strange Paradise: A Window into Surrealism. The national exhibition is hosted by Annmarie Sculpture Gardens and Arts Center, a Smithsonian Institution affiliate in Solomonds, Md., and will run from May 27 through September 18.
Three students from the Cameron University education programs at Rogers State University have been accepted into Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education. Selection as a member of Kappa Delta Pi requires high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career, and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in the profession. Only those who have exhibited the ideals of scholarship, integrity in service, and commitment to excellence in teaching and its allied professions are granted membership.

Middle school and high school volleyball players and coaches can hone their skills during the off-season at one of Cameron University’s six summer volleyball camps. Aggie head volleyball coach Brandon Stephenson will lead a camp for middle school setters, three skill-specific camps for high school students, a high school team camp and a camp for coaches. Cameron University’s Theatre Arts program celebrated the achievements of its students during a recent ceremony.
Middle schools girls who are entering 6th, 7th or 8th grades in Fall 2022 and who have an interest in mathematics, aerospace and other STEM disciplines are encouraged to apply for Cameron University’s Applied Mathematics and Aerospace Engineering Summer Academy. The residential academy is scheduled for July 10-15 on Cameron’s Lawton campus. The program will introduce several aspects of science engineering through the use of academic projects related to mathematics and aerospace engineering that are designed to stimulate creativity. There is no charge to participate. Only 12 students will be accepted.
Thanks to the generosity of Professor Emeritus Dr. Mickey Cooper and his wife Donna, the Cameron University Foundation has established the Dr. Mickey Cooper Endowed Scholarship in Biology. Cooper was a member of the Cameron faculty for more than 35 years before retiring in 2000.
