CU’s Organizational Leadership degree program is ideal for adults who want to complete a college degree


If you once started a college degree, earned class credits but then had to drop out, there’s no time like the present to complete a degree program and fulfill that long-held dream of becoming a college graduate. With that in mind, Cameron University’s Department of Business will present CU Finish, a virtual informational session that will provide details about the Bachelor’s of Science in Organizational Leadership degree program, which is ideal for those who have already earned some college credits.


Cameron announces Fall 2021 honor rolls


Cameron University has announced the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the Fall 2021 semester. To make the President’s Honor Roll, undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time (carrying at least 12 hours of classes) and maintain a straight A average (4.0). The Dean’s Honor Roll requires a B average (3.00-3.99).


Cameron University’s Jack Crouch goes “Against the Grain” for juried art exhibition


When Cameron University assistant professor of art Jack Crouch saw the call for entries for Strata Gallery’s Against the Grain juried art exhibition, he knew he had the perfect submission: an oil painting titled “Onward” that presents his unique take on Jacques-Louis David’s “Napoleon Crossing the Alps.” Juror Stephanie Jacinto included Crouch’s painting in her selections for the exhibition, which focuses on works that in some way resist following current trends within the art world. The exhibition is on display through February 5 at Strata Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.


Cameron University’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance to feature activist Sarah Culberson


Cameron University and Cameron Campus Ministry will present Princess Sarah Culberson as the keynote speaker for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance. Culberson, an American-born princess of the Mende people of Sierra Leone, will present “Building Community: Lessons from Our Past and Present that Shape Our Future.” This virtual event, with two separate sessions, is scheduled for Tuesday, January 18, via Zoom. Cameron University accounting students selected for prestigious national leadership training program


Cameron University accounting majors Pilar Jaurena, Shalei Okamura and Colton Williams have been awarded coveted national scholarships for the National Collegiate Leadership Program (NCLP). The three students will travel to Washington, D.C., in February 2022 to attend the National Leadership Training (NLT) sponsored by the Association of Government Accountants (AGA). They are student members of the AGA.


Cameron University’s Alfred Finch honored with national award by U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs


The Vocation Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) division of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has honored Alfred Finch, Cameron University VetSuccess on Campus (VSOC) counselor, as its national VSOC Employee of the Year. Finch began his career with the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2017. When he came to Cameron as VSOC in 2018, the university became the first university in Oklahoma to host a VSOC on campus.


Cameron University staff members honored with Pickaxe Award


Cameron University staff members Amy Cintora and Cody Flood are the recipients of the 2021 Pickaxe Awards, which recognize full-time Cameron employees whose performance is above and beyond expectations. Cintora is an administrative assistant in the Athletics Department, and Flood is the university’s concurrent enrollment coordinator. Each received a $1,000 stipend and a commemorative award.


Cameron University offers free CLEET continuing education workshop for certified peace officers


Full-time and reserve certified peace officers have the opportunity to earn three hours of mandatory continuing education credit at Cameron University’s upcoming CLEET workshop, “Disproportionate Minority Contact and Policing in Oklahoma.” Catalogued by the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET catalog number 21-3954), the workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, January 11, from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the McCasland Ballroom in the McMahon Centennial Complex on the Cameron University campus in Lawton.
