Prospective educators can learn about teacher certification during Cameron University’s virtual CU Become a Teacher workshop


For those considering entering the teaching field but unsure of how to become certified, Cameron University’s “CU Become a Teacher” virtual workshop can provide the answers. The Zoom presentation will take place on Monday, October 4, at 5:30 p.m. This free, specialized presentation will focus on the multiple pathways for becoming a teacher.


Learn about teacher certification in Special Education during Cameron University virtual session


Would you like to teach PK-12 students with special needs? If you already have a bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 2.75 or higher, then Cameron University’s CU Be A Special Education Teacher, a virtual learning session, will walk you through the steps to achieve certification in special education. This free, informational event is slated for Monday, September 27, at 5:30 p.m. and will take place via Zoom. Cameron University to host college fairs for southwest Oklahoma high school students


Calling all high school students! If you haven’t yet started exploring your college options, Cameron University can help. CU, in conjunction with the Great Plains Association for College Admission Counseling, will host two college fairs on the Lawton campus and one on the CU-Duncan camps so that high school students can connect with colleges and universities. Fairs are free for students and parents to attend.


Cameron University names Tiffany Smith as Director of Development


Tiffany Smith has been named as Cameron University’s Director of Development. Smith joined the university in September 2015 and was most recently Assistant to the Vice President for University Advancement, a position in which she developed hands-on familiarity with all aspects of the university’s fundraising mission, including the Cameron University Foundation. Smith steps into the role vacated by former director Julie Cunningham, who relocated out-of-state.


“Blithe Spirit” launches Cameron University theatre season


The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will open its 2021-2022 Spirited Season with “Blithe Spirit,” Noel Coward’s classic 1941 comedy. The “high spirited” production will be presented in the University Theatre from Thursday, September 30, through Sunday, October 3. The curtain goes up on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $13 for adults and $10 for senior citizens, military, Cameron faculty and staff, and non-Cameron students. CU students receive one free admission with their CU I.D. Tickets can be reserved by calling the box office at 580-581-2346.


Cameron University Visiting Writer’s Series kicks off with Ken Hada


Award-winning poet Ken Hada will kick off Cameron University’s Visiting Writer’s Series, presented by the Department of Communication, English and Foreign Languages, on Friday, September 17 at 7 p.m. The presentation, which is open to the public at no charge, takes place in the Buddy Green Room in the McMahon Centennial Complex.


Cameron University’s virtual Constitution Day observance to examine "The Constitution in the Age of COVID-19"


Cameron University will join colleges and universities across the nation to celebrate Constitution Day on Friday, September 17, with "The Constitution in the Age of COVID-19," a virtual presentation by Judge Robert A. Cameron University earns 2021 Excellence in Assessment designation


Cameron University has been awarded the 2021 Excellence in Assessment (EIA) designation by the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA) in partnership with the Association of American Colleges and Universities, and VSA Analytics, a joint initiative of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities and the Association of Public & Land-grant Universities
