“The Theory of Relativity” wraps up Cameron University theatre season


Cameron University’s Department of Art, Music, and Theatre Arts will conclude its 2020-21 theatre season, celebrating “Festival XI: Connections: Information Transfer Between People,” with “The Theory of Relativity.” The musical comedy will be presented in the University Theatre from April 15-18th. The curtain goes up on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.


Degree programs in psychology to be featured during Cameron University’s virtual CU In Psychology workshop


For those considering pursuit of a degree from Cameron University’s Department of Psychology but unsure of the differences of the department’s two undergraduate degree programs, the upcoming CU In Psychology event has the answers. The free, virtual informational presentation will feature specifics about each of the degree programs, including courses, tracks and opportunities for undergraduate research. Career options will also be covered. CU in Psychology will take place on Thursday, April 15, at 4 p.m.


Cameron announces Fall 2020 honor rolls


Cameron University has announced the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the Fall 2020 semester. To make the President’s Honor Roll, undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time (carrying at least 12 hours of classes) and maintain a straight A average (4.0). The Dean’s Honor Roll requires a B average (3.00-3.99).


Cameron University offers virtual CU Become a Principal workshop

Anyone who is considering earning a master's degree to become a school principal (which requires a minimum of one year experience as a classroom teacher) is invited to attend "CU Become a Principal," a free, specialized virtual workshop presented by Cameron University's Department of Education at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 8.


Cameron University’s Hyunsoon Whang and guest violinist Rebecca Boyer to present “An Evening of Music for Violin and Piano”


Cameron University professor Hyunsoon Whang will be joined by guest violinist Rebecca Boyer for “An Evening of Music for Violin and Piano” on Thursday, April 8 in the McCutcheon Recital Hall. The two virtuosos will present sonatas by Beethoven and Schumann. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens/military/K-12 students. Admission is free to CU students, faculty and staff with CU ID. Seating is limited, so patrons are encouraged to call (580) 581-2346 to reserve a seat. Social distancing will be in place, and facial coverings are required.


Cameron University to host Oklahoma/Arkansas Mathematics Association Sectional meeting


The Cameron University Department of Mathematical Sciences will host the 82nd annual meeting of the Oklahoma/Arkansas Mathematics Association Section from April 8-10. The meeting will take place virtually and will feature keynote addresses, workshops, undergraduate presentations and student competitions. The event is open to anyone who has an interest in mathematics. Registration is required, and a link to the registration site can be found at https://www.cameron.edu/math/events/ok-ar-maa/registration. Registration fees range from $10 to $55. Registrants will receive login procedures, navigation and access to the lectures via email.


“Everlasting,” Cameron University senior art show, to open April 3 at Leslie Powell Gallery


The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will present “Everlasting,” an art exhibit featuring the works of Cameron’s senior art majors. The show takes place at the Leslie Powell Gallery, 620 S.W. D Avenue. An opening reception is planned for Saturday, April 3, at 5 p.m. and is open to the public at no charge. Artwork on display for the exhibition, which will run through April 30, will be available for purchase.


CU in Business virtual presentation to provide information about Cameron University graduate degrees in business


For those interested in pursuing a graduate degree in business at Cameron University but unsure of which of the two options suits their needs, the CU Department of Business will host CU in Business. The virtual presentation is set for Tuesday, March 30, at 6 p.m. Information about CU’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Organizational Leadership (MSOL) will be featured.
