Cameron University to offer virtual “CU Be A Therapist” workshop for aspiring mental health professionals


Residents of Southwest Oklahoma who are interested in learning about becoming a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) are invited to join Cameron University’s “CU Be A Therapist” virtual presentation on Wednesday, November 4. Cameron University’s Academic Festival XI continues with generational expert Lynne Lancaster


Cameron University’s 11th Academic Festival, “Connections: Information Transfer Between People,” continues with a presentation by generational expert Lynne Lancaster on Tuesday, November 10, in Aggie Gym. The presentation is free and open to the public; however tickets are required for admission. Tickets may be reserved online at http://www.cameron.edu/festivalxi. The deadline to order tickets is Friday, October 30. Tickets will be distributed by mail or can be picked up in advance from the Office of Public Affairs, Administration Building, Room 150 beginning on Monday, November 2. Cameron University offers virtual CU Become a Teacher workshop to assist future educators


The Cameron University Department of Education will hold a “CU Become A Teacher” virtual workshop for anyone who is considering entering the teaching field. The Zoom presentation will take place on Tuesday, October 27. This free, specialized presentation will focus on the multiple pathways for becoming a teacher. The Cameron University School of Graduate and Professional Studies and Department of Business will host “CU In Business,” a virtual informational session that will feature Cameron’s Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Organizational Leadership programs. Cameron University’s Hyunsoon Whang continues performance cycle featuring Beethoven’s piano sonatas


Cameron University’s Hyunsoon Whang will present “Beethoven Sonata Cycle 2,” the second in a series of piano recitals where she will ultimately perform a complete cycle of Beethoven’s sonatas. The recital will take place on Thursday, October 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the University Theatre. Tickets are $10 for adults, and $8 for senior citizens, K-12 students and members of the military. Cameron students, faculty and staff are admitted at no charge with valid ID. Due to COVID-19 precautions, seating is limited. To ensure a seat, please call 581-2478.


Cameron University offers degree completion through Reach Higher: Reconnect


Cameron University is encouraging individuals who have earned some college credits to enroll in a degree completion program by hosting virtual Reach Higher: Reconnect sessions on Wednesday, October 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursday, October 22, from 5 to 6 p.m. During the sessions, participants will learn about Cameron’s Organizational Leadership degree program and learn about financial assistance, admissions and enrollment.
