Enrollment for the Summer 2020 semester at Cameron University will begin on Tuesday, March 31. A final course schedule will be available to students at noon by Monday, March 30.
The Cameron University chapter of Phi Eta Sigma, the national interdisciplinary honor society for first year students, has welcomed 37 new members, who met the qualification criteria in the spring or fall of 2019.
The artwork of Katherine Liontas-Warren, professor of art at Cameron University, will take art patrons on a visual tour of her life and musings in “Water & Land,” a solo exhibition presented at the Firehouse Art Center in Norman from March 13 through April 18. A reception celebrating Liontas-Warren’s work is scheduled for Friday, April 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Coffee with Cameron and Western, hosted by Cameron University and Western Oklahoma State College, returns to the Main Street location of White Buffalo Coffee Bar in Altus on Monday, March 30. The event is an opportunity for high school students, adults wishing to earn a degree, and veterans to learn about degree programs, resources, financial assistance and more at CU and Western.

When you’re Vince Morvillo, a highly successful business consultant and entrepreneur and the first blind person to win the prestigious National Ensign Sailing championship, you substitute vision for sight. Morvillo will present the keynote address at Cameron University’s sixth annual Inclusion and Leadership Summit, a one-day conference that aims to provide education and awareness about the importance of inclusion and diversity. The event, which takes place on Friday, March 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the McMahon Centennial Complex, is open to the public at no charge. The Cameron University Foundation has established two new endowed faculty positions that will benefit students in perpetuity thanks to estate gifts from two alumni. The Robert Harmon Endowed Professorship in Mathematics and the Jeneanne Lawson Endowed Professorship in Communication were approved at the recent meeting of the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University Board of Regents. University officials will now seek matching funds from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education for this endowment.
The McMahon Foundation has presented Cameron University a $1.25 million gift that will be used to fund a substantial upgrade of the library on its Lawton campus. The renovation will include additional collaboration spaces for students and faculty, meeting rooms that will be open for public use, and construction of an atrium that will house a bistro. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the 2020-2021 academic year.
Cameron University to offer extended enrollment services hours from January 2-4
Cameron University staff members Lisa Armstrong and Kay Means are the recipients of the 2019 Pickaxe Awards, which recognize full-time Cameron employees whose performance is above and beyond expectations. Armstrong is the Accounting Clerk/Typesetter in the CU Print Shop, and Means serves as Assistant Director in the Office of Admissions. Each received a $1,000 stipend and a commemorative award.
