Beyond the Classroom
Per the National Survey of Student Engagement, early exposure to high-impact practices has produced greater gains in learning, graduation, and retention compared to what normally occurs with traditional instruction.
The Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Cameron University strongly values High-Impact Practices and utilizes them to help our students develop communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills essential in a workplace. At the Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, students have opportunities to complete an internship or community-based project connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences and developing research skills and evidence-based analyses.
The Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences provides the following High-Impact Practices:
- Undergraduate Research
- Capstone Courses and Projects
- Project-Based Learning
