Laboratory Assistant – Department of Ag, Bio and HSC 

The Department of Agriculture, Biology and Health Sciences at Cameron University is looking for a State funded, work study student to work in its laboratories. The student will assist the lab manager in setting up and breaking down the labs for various classes. Responsibilities will include preparing solutions, cleaning glassware, making media, cleaning labs, checking safety equipment, and maintaining the chemical inventory. Other tasks may be performed as deemed necessary by the lab manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The student applicant should be familiar with laboratory work and should have completed at least two college level science courses with labs. The applicant must be able to follow instructions and pay attention to detail. Applicant must demonstrate a professional attitude and the ability to work as part of a team. The applicants must be willing to work 10-20 hours a week in a minimum of 2-3 hour blocks of time or longer.
