Student Assistant - Office of VP for University Advancement
The Office of University Advancement is seeking a Student Office Assistant to join our team. This is a student employee position with a maximum of 20 hours per week available.
The Office of Advancement works with the Cameron University Foundation to promote educational, scientific and cultural interests at Cameron University for the benefit of Cameron students and the citizens of southwest Oklahoma. We accomplish these aims throughout the year by, among others, conducting campaigns, creating and maintaining donor relationships, and establishing endowed scholarships, lectureships, and chairs for the benefit of Cameron University students, faculty, and staff.
This position would ideally be filled by a student with interests in one or more of the following areas: marketing, public relations, fundraising, donor relations and stewardship, grant writing, business and/or sales, data analytics, and/or website development. This position will enable the successful applicant to learn an important skill set while developing leadership and team experiences useful in future endeavors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Advancement Student Office Assistant will assist with daily office responsibilities such as computer work (Excel file manipulation, Word document mail merging, database maintenance and/or letter writing and editing), copying, filing, sorting, shredding, and answering phones. Additionally, this student will assist the Advancement team on aspects of special projects such as campaign development, donor communication, event planning, information gathering, website maintenance, and others as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A successful applicant will have excellent computer skills (working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Outlook), excellent oral and written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and work unsupervised when necessary.
