Tutor

The Cameron Tutoring Center is seeking new tutors. Hours are flexible and depend on your class schedule. Tutor may work up to 20 hours per week. Duties include working closely with students to provide both face-to-face and virtual assistance with various aspects of the writing process, keeping accurate records of tutoring sessions, maintaining files, answering the telephone, responding to emails, and scheduling. The tutor facilitates learning as a guide and coach to assist students in becoming successful, independent learners.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants are expected to have (1) Achieved at least a sophomore classification. (2) Have at least a 3.0 GPA, (3) Basic computer skills. (4) Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills. (5) Successful completion in General Level classes in that subject area.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

(1) at least a 3.5 GPA (2) knowledge of common office software such as Microsoft Word, (3) previous experience as a tutor or education majors.
