Cameron University alumna Michelle Rahn was named as one of five winners during the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence’s 35th Academic Awards Celebration. Rahn, a sixth-grade science, technology, engineering and math teacher at Will Rogers Junior High School in Claremore, was presented with the 2020-21 Oklahoma Medal for Excellence in Elementary Teaching.
The 2021 Military Times “Best for Vets: Colleges” rankings list has been published, with Cameron University achieving a number of distinctions. Cameron was named third in Oklahoma, 13th in the Southwest region, 99th among public institutions, 117th among four year schools and 125th in the nation overall. In addition, Cameron scored an 87% rating for military-friendly institutions.
Cameron University students will be the primary beneficiaries of action taken today by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, as it approved Cameron’s request to maintain its 2021-2022 tuition and mandatory fees at the same rate as the previous three years. The action essentially ensures that Cameron will remain the most affordable university in Oklahoma for students seeking bachelor’s or master’s degrees.

This free information session, presented by the CU Department of Business and its accounting faculty, will cover degree highlights, accounting career options and CU’s admissions process. Cameron University has announced the President’s and Dean’s honor lists for the Spring 2021 semester. To make the President’s Honor Roll, undergraduate students must be enrolled full-time (carrying at least 12 hours of classes) and maintain a straight A average (4.0). The Dean’s Honor Roll requires a B average (3.00-3.99).
The Cameron University Department of Chemistry, Physics and Engineering is now accepting applications for the Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mathematics Summer Academy for middle school girls. The camp takes place June 7-11 and will host middle school girls from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. There is no cost to attend. Cameron University has announced that Scott Schneider will become its next Vice President for Business and Finance on June 1. The hiring was approved today by the Board of Regents for the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University.
The Cameron University Department of Communication, English and Foreign Languages welcomed six new members to the Beta Omicron chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society.
