Middle school girls can explore aerospace engineering and more during summer academy


Middle schools girls who are entering 6th, 7th or 8th grades in Fall 2022 and who have an interest in mathematics, aerospace and other STEM disciplines are encouraged to apply for Cameron University’s Applied Mathematics and Aerospace Engineering Summer Academy. The residential academy is scheduled for July 10-15 on Cameron’s Lawton campus. The program will introduce several aspects of science engineering through the use of academic projects related to mathematics and aerospace engineering that are designed to stimulate creativity. There is no charge to participate. Only 12 students will be accepted.


CU Office of Campus Life presents annual awards


Cameron University’s Office of Campus Life is pleased to announce the recipients of its annual awards, which are presented to students, faculty and staff. Awards include the Top 20 Students, comprised of outstanding juniors and seniors, and the Top 10 Non-Traditional Students, made up of outstanding juniors and seniors over the age of 24. Students are selected based on excellence in leadership, community service, campus involvement and academics.


Cameron University offers Summer Food Service Program to Upward Bound participants


Cameron University is participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Meals will be provided to all eligible children free of charge. To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential or non-residential camp, such as Cameron’s Upward Bound program, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program. Children who are part of households that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations, or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families are automatically eligible to receive free meals. Acceptance and participation requirements for the Summer Food Service Program and all activities are the same for all regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.


Inclement weather plan, security, parking for those with disabilities and seating outlined for Cameron University Commencement


Cameron University’s annual Commencement will take place in two ceremonies, Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. at Cameron Stadium. CU alumna Brigadier General Hope Rampy will deliver the Commencement address at both ceremonies. Cameron officials encourage graduates, their families and friends, and all visitors to arrive at least 30 minutes early to facilitate a seamless entry into the stadium. Gates open at 6 p.m. Ample parking is available on campus.


Summer art camps at Cameron University develop creativity


The Cameron University art program will host two summer camps for children, with multiple sessions available. Creative Expressions: Art in the Afternoon 2022 is geared toward children ranging from age 6 to 12, and the Fine Arts Summer Art Institute is for children ages 13 to 18. Delta Mu Delta honor society welcomes Cameron University business students


Cameron University’s Iota Sigma chapter of the Delta Mu Delta (DMD) International Honor Society in Business recently conducted a virtual induction ceremony for nine new members. Delta Mu Delta recognizes and encourages academic excellence to create a DMD community that fosters the well-being of its individual members and the business community through lifetime membership. Dr. Greg Treadwell has served as the DMD faculty advisor for 15 years.


Cameron students honored by CU Department of Business


The Cameron University Department of Business is pleased to announce the student recipients of departmental awards. Students from each of the department’s degree programs – Associate in Science in Business (AS), Bachelor of Accounting (BACC), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership (ORGL), Master of Science in Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) – were selected, as well as an award honoring the top research student in the department.
