Artwork by Professor Emeritus Katherine Liontas-Warren accepted for national exhibition


A painting by Cameron University Professor Emeritus Katherine Liontas-Warren has been accepted by the Marblehead Arts Association for its upcoming Variations 2023 exhibition. The national juried show will feature the artwork of artists from across the country. “Autumn Sea in New England,” an oil on panel, will be on display from April 22 through June 18 at the Marblehead, Mass., gallery.


Teachers encouraged to attend CU Become a Reading Specialist to learn about additional certification


Certified teachers who are interested in earning additional qualification to become a reading specialist are encouraged to attend “CU Become a Reading Specialist,” a virtual workshop slated for Thursday, April 7, at 5:30 p.m. on Zoom. This free, specialized information session, presented by the Cameron University Department of Education, will cover the admission standards and curriculum for earning a Masters of Education degree in Reading


Cameron University invites you to RECONNECT to learn how to finish the degree you started


Cameron University invites adults who have earned college credit but were unable to complete a degree program to attend one of two virtual Reach Higher: Reconnect events designed to help working adults find the information and resources needed to complete a bachelor’s degree. The virtual sessions are slated for Tuesday, April 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursday, April 13, from 5 to 6 p.m.


Cameron University’s Vet Fest to celebrate women veterans, provide tips, more


Cameron University’s Office of Veterans Affairs invites community members, including veterans, military service members and dependents, to its third Vet Fest, a two-day event that will highlight the upcoming 75th Anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act of 1948. The event will also present tips for veterans and more. Vet Fest takes place on Wednesday, April 5, and Thursday, April 6, on the second floor of the McMahon Centennial Complex (MCC).


Military Veterans Resource Fair to provide information for active duty service members, veterans and dependents


Active members of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and dependents are invited to Cameron University’s Military Veterans Resource Fair slated for Wednesday, April 5, and Thursday, April 6. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first floor of the McMahon Centennial Complex. The building is located at University Drive and D Avenue. Visitor parking is available across the street.


Christian Morren invites special guests for vocal recital


When it comes to performing, Cameron University’s Dr. Christian Morren is happy to share the stage with talented vocalists and musicians. On Thursday, March 30, she has invited long-time friend Dr. Catherine McDaniel to join her for a vocal recital during which they will be accompanied by collaborative pianist Jan McDaniel, Catherine McDaniel’s husband. The performance will take place in the McCutcheon Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.


“Identity,” Cameron University’s senior art show, to open April 1 at Leslie Powell Gallery


The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will present the 2023 senior art exhibition, “Identity,” at the Leslie Powell Gallery, 620 S.W. D Avenue. An opening reception is planned for Saturday, April 1, at 6 p.m. and is open to the public at no charge. Artwork on display for the exhibition, which will run through April 30, will be available for purchase.
