FFA Interscholastic Meet bring 675 students to campus; results of contests announced


More than 675 students from 173 Oklahoma FFA teams were on the Cameron University campus in mid-April for CU’s FFA Agriculture Interscholastic Meet. The event helps agriculture students hone their skills in areas ranging from practical animal science and agronomy to leadership and business while it prepares the students for the state competition. Cameron has hosted the meet for more than 50 years.


Cameron’s K.I.D.S. Camp promises three days of fun for elementary school students


Are your elementary school children curious, creative and interested in science, technology, engineering arts and/or math? Then Cameron University’s K.I.D.S. Camp is right up their alley! From June 16-18, K.I.D.S. Camp (Kids Investigating and Discovering Science) will immerse participants in Camp Innovation Station, where hands-on learning, creativity, innovation, inventing, designing and problem-solving are on tap. All activities will take place at FISTA at Central Plaza from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.


Members of Cameron’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu club compete at state tournament


When the American Grappling Federation held its Oklahoma State Championship Tournament, two members of Cameron University’s Brazilian jiu jitsu club found themselves in the thick of competition. Seth Pleasant, a sophomore majoring in allied health science, and Junior Ramirez, who graduated in December 2024 but remains active in the club as an alumnus, joined more than 400 competitors to test their skills.


Winners of Cameron’s Invitational High School Art Competition and Exhibition announced; 320 entries received


The Cameron University Invitational High School Art Competition and Exhibition received 320 entries from 175 high school art students, which resulted in a daunting task for the CU art faculty, who evaluated the works and selected the winning pieces. The exhibition will be on display in the Art Building on the east side of the Louise D. McMahon Fine Arts Complex, through May 2.
