Cameron University-Duncan invites students and alumni to hop over to campus on Tuesday, April 15, for an egg hunt. The event will start at 4 p.m. with games, with the egg hunt to follow at 4:30 p.m.
Cameron University has teamed up with the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation to offer a free fishing experience to children ages 6-18 with special needs on Saturday, April 19, at Elmer Thomas Park. Participants will receive their very own rod and reel, tackle box, event t-shirt, hat and award plaque to keep. Children must have a parent/guardian attend the entirety of the event with them. Family members are welcome to attend lunch and the awards ceremony.
Learn how inspiration can provide the pathway to success during Cameron University’s 2025 Leadership Summit. Visual artist Richard Hight will offer “The Art of Inspiration” following a series of presentations geared to ignite the leadership capabilities with us all. The half-day conference will take place on Friday, April 11, starting at 9 a.m. in the Mary Lou and W. Carey Johnson Auditorium in Cynthia Ross Hall.
The Cameron University Percussion Ensemble will present “End Game,” a concert featuring an eclectic repertoire that will include the world premieres of a student-written composition and student-written arrangement. The concert is set for Wednesday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the University Theatre.
The Cameron University art program will host two summer camps for children, with multiple sessions available. Creative Expressions: Art in the Afternoon 2025 is geared toward children ranging from age 6 to 12, and the Fine Arts Summer Art Institute is for children age 13 to 18. For many, the advent of spring means one thing: it’s time to plant a garden. Consider planting Aggie Grown seedlings, a selection of non-GMO seedlings grown by Cameron University’s Aggie Club and Biology Club. Aggie Grown fruits, vegetables and herbs are available at the Lawton Farmer’s Market each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Plants are priced at $5 each. Aggie Grown t-shirts and vinyl stickers are also available for purchase.
The Bill W. Burgess Jr. Business Research Center at Cameron University will present “Real Estate Trends in Southwest Oklahoma,” a business forum that will explore movement in local market housing prices, building supplies, new home construction, economic indicators impacting real estate and financial real estate trends. The discussion will take place on Wednesday, April 23, at 11 a.m. in the Mary Lou and W. Carey Johnson Auditorium, Room 111 in Ross Hall.
The Cameron University Department of Art, Music and Theatre Arts will present the 2025 senior art exhibition, "Through Our Eyes," at the Leslie Powell Gallery, 620 S.W. D Avenue. An opening reception, which is open to the public at no charge, is planned for Saturday, April 5, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and is open to the public at no charge. Artwork for the exhibition, which will run through May 3, will be available for purchase.
Active members of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and dependents are invited to Cameron University’s Military Veterans Resource Fair slated for Wednesday, April 2, and Thursday, April 3. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the first floor of the McMahon Centennial Complex. The building is located at University Drive and D Avenue. Visitor parking is available across the street.
